How can a person have a healthy self-esteem and admit his stupidity?  I have enough people telling me, in some way, how insufficient I am.  I don’t need to add fuel to my own fire. So, why do I talk about this in the book?  Because I must confess that had I known how foolhardy I was, it would have cut back on the number of mistakes I made.  I haven’t always chosen the wisest thing to do. We cannot deny the fact that we all have made mistakes. Knowing this should make us think twice and maybe even get some advice.  I have said to myself many times, “If I had known then what I know now.” So many times, that I know I am going to say it again! That is wisdom. Wisdom is not avoiding mistakes. It is minimizing the amount of mistakes and taking the correct approach to deal with the aftermath of those mistakes.

SO TRUE. Being honest with ourselves, our mistakes and knowing that we will make mistakes again is important. Wisdom, joy, happiness and contentment will come from being honest with ourselves.
